The college search process can be overwhelming. How do I know what school or program to pick? Where do I start?

Voyager's goal was to make the school search process easier. Taking users already looking at our education websites, we put them into a question flow that allows them to find college programs related to their goals.

We designed the question flow to be streamlined across multiple education sites, taking on individual site branding while expanding our audience.

Extended User Testing

Through multiple rounds of wireframes, prototyping and user testing with real students, we determined the best questions to ask and order to ask them to provide the most value.

Entry Points

Our team was consistently designing and testing the best entry points from the education websites into the question flow and school results page. One of our best winners was a simple dropdown in multiple placements on our sites.

Education and Work Experience

Through asking previous education and work experience, we can learn what types of programs a student may be accepted into, and know what level of program to serve in results.

Key Factors

Learning a user's preferences and how soon a user is expecting to start a program is important, as it also narrows down what programs may or may not still be accepting applications. This helps us provide valuable results and builds a level of trust with the user.

Personal Information

It was important that we gained personal information from the user to pass along to the schools they might be interested in.

School Results

We tested and created multiple versions of a school results page, learning what information was most important to show.

Request Information

School programs appear on individual cards and allow the user to request information immediately about the program.
